I mean, just look at what the Second Testament says. Anyone who takes the Bible literally will believe that you only get to heaven through Christ. Not very enlightened or politically correct, but at least it's honest.

I'm no fan of Huckabee but I don't really care what Huckabee thinks re: where I'm going after I die. I care much more about how he thinks people should be treated in this life, and what government's role should be in treating them. His answer was totally satisfactory to me: he said his religious beliefs are his own and not fit for a political debate. Liberals are always chastising conservatives for bringing faith into politics. Here, for once, a conservative is actually trying to keep his faith where it belongs (outside of politics) and liberals are complaining that he didn't answer the question.--I realize Huckabee generally brings up his faith every five minutes, but I'm referring here to just this quote.

I know this won't happen, but I hope the media will let that answer go, and ask questions that are actually relevant. Like what he's gonna do about health care. Or how his tax plan is destined to raise taxes on the poor and middle class while lowering taxes on the wealthy.
