Gaaah!!! Anonymous, you are totally right. I profusely apologize -- I was operating on very little sleep, and even less of a keyboard. Neither of which is an excuse to slur an entire nation's language, but it is a start.

That apology is most assuredly NOT extended to RL, who's just crass and impolite. I need more learning, but we all do -- that's why it's a mitzvah every day. I don't think English Jews are "afraid to be Jewish." Or, at least, not all of them are. Or else, uh, they wouldn't be congregating at a very public conference of 2,200-plus people??
