It would be great to see a group of women having the same conversation, though it probably would and wouldn't be the same. That whole writers retreat question is interesting, too. Seems like a no-brainer for someone to set up an artists colony designed for families--with childcare and so on included. There must be a kind philanthropist somewhere ready to donate the appropriate property. Sorry that Adam Johnson hasn't chimed in on this one because I know he has awesome insights into the crazy balancing act of parenting and writing.
