Olmert alludes to apartheid South Africa in describing Israel and its future.
Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said failure to negotiate a two-state solution with the Palestinians would spell the end of the State of Israel. He warned of a "South African-style struggle" which Israel would lose if a Palestinian state was not established.
[...]
"If the day comes when the two-state solution collapses, and we face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights, then, as soon as that happens, the State of Israel is finished," Mr Olmert is quoted saying in Haaretz newspaper.

I was always amazed when
I was always amazed when some sleek corporate flak would agree to appear on "60 Minutes" for an interview with Mike Wallace. What was he thinking? Had he never watched the show? Didn't he realize that Hewitt'd run a macroscopic closeup of the beads of sweat blooming on his upper lip over audio of Wallace cornering him on some unspeakable viciousness or another? I guess these guys figured they were cleverer than the last agribusiness oaf made to look like a captured pederast. They never were. Narcissism omnia vincit, I guess.
So was this an unguarded belch, regretted instantly after being uttered, or was Olmert intentionally spilling the fava beans? In any event, and as odd as I feel saying this, I agree with the scandal-soaked klepto's analysis in this instance.
I suspect that the growing interest in a one state solution is being taken more seriously in Israel than it is here in the US. I've come to think that the most salutary tack for the Palestinians to take is to throw up their hands, declare defeat, and demand of their rulers of 40 years the equal rights we've every right to expect from the Levant's sole hegemon, being as it is the lone beacon of enlightenment values in a sea of benighted wogs.
Show the blackguards what democracy looks like! Drag the beggars into the 21st century!
Some may remember Leonard Wibberly's book about a tiny nation which declares war upon the US, surrenders, and then enjoys the Marshallesque largesse of the victorious Uncle Sam.
Farfur may have croaked, but I hear another mouse roaring!
