Thomas C Laird

Thomas Laird is a writer and photographer. He lived in Nepal for 35 years and now divides his time between Kathmandu and New Orleans. He is the author of two non-fiction books on Tibet, and two books of his photography have been published. His most recent book is The Story of Tibet: Conversations with the Dalai Lama, which came out in the US, Germany and UK in 2006, and is now being published in 14 other languages. The Dalai Lama granted him more than 50 hours of private interviews for that book. Laird was amongst the first 100 foreigners to visit Tibet when it opened in 1985 and has traveled widely there ever since.
