About Julie Weitz

Julie Weitz was born and raised in Chicago, IL and currently lives and works in Tampa, FL.  She has exhibited nationally in New York, Chicago, Miami, Tampa, New Orleans and Austin.  Her work is currently on view in the group exhibition "Note to Self" at Schroeder Romero in Chelsea.  Weitz recently exhibited the series "Beards" in the group show "Retractions" at Root Division in San Francisco, which received critical review in the current issue of Artweek, The National Voice for West Coast Contemporary Art.  In 2007, Weitz was awarded an artist-in-residence at Makor Gallery in New York City and Oxbow Artist Residency in Saugatuck, MI.  She received her MFA at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and BFA at the University of Texas, Austin.
