Jewcy loves trees! Please don't print!

Philip Roth was announced as the Man Booker International Prize winner today, winning £60,000, and being the second Jew in as many years to win a Man Booker, following Howard Jacobson’s capturing of an award for The Finkler Question.

Roth had this to say about the award (via GalleyCat):

“One of the particular pleasures I’ve had as a writer is to have my work read internationally despite all the heartaches of translation that that entails. I hope the prize will bring me to the attention of readers around the world who are not familiar with my work. This is a great honour and I’m delighted to receive it.”

Now all Roth has to do is capture a Nobel Prize, and he’s officially the Michael Jordan of Jewish writers.
