The Big Jewcy: Joshua Cohen, Writer

Let’s step into a time machine, go to Jan. 1st, 2011, and look at the New York Times list of books that shaped the prior year.  It’s a pretty safe bet that Joshua Cohen’s Witz (Dalkey Archive), will be among those names.

Let’s step back into that time machine and travel 20, 30, 50 years into the future.  If people are still reading books (god willing), I’d feel pretty safe saying that Cohen’s 800+ page tale of Benjamin Israelin as the last Jew on earth, will still be a book that people are discussining the same way people discuss works like Ulysses, Gravity’s Rainbow, or Infinite Jest, today.

With that in mind, I sat down to ask Mr. Cohen a few questions.
