My work is wonky, wibbly, odd, angry, happy, dumb, and wrong. I strive to explore imaginary environments suffused with personal anxieties, narrative and (sometimes dark) humor.

I draw the old-fashioned way—with gel or felt pens or paints—and with the help of computers. My work varies from monotone and stark images on selected found materials and stocks (like cards and paper bags), to purposely over-saturated, almost celebratory, psychedelic flights of whimsy. The lines do little dances, the doodles strop and bop.

Over the last few years I’ve been taking my images and applying them directly to walls and objects. Often I approach a project with no ideas or plans. This stems from both intention and deep-seated laziness. The challenge is wringing out every last scrawled thought, scraping the barrel of my brain, until there is nothing left. This produces either divine inspiration or a sorry mess of work.

But even sorry messes are inspired. Inspiration, like chewing gum, can be found everywhere. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it—you’ll just be walking along and -BAM- you’ll get some inspiration. Or some chewing gum on your shoe…
